Since we first opened our doors in 1988 we have welcomed thousands of race fans from all around the world.  We are so proud of our family's rich history in NASCAR.  If you come here, you see the history of NASCAR. We ran in the very first race and we’ve been running them ever since.

Most museums, they’ll take the stuff from the original place and put it in a place where it loses its authenticity. When you walk in here, you’re in the middle of the history. Not only the museum but you’re walking on historic ground that’s had race cars.  Two hundred and sixty eight race cars win races out of this one shop to be exact.

You'll also see the house where I grew up- where my dad Lee called home for most of his life.  And you'll also be able to view his very first race shop, the Reaper Shed.  To this day his initials and year (1949) are in the concrete floor.

While you are here, take a peek in Petty's Garage.  It's our fully operational speed and restoration shop.  We have some of the best technicians in the world working to make car enthusiasts dreams come true.

We hope you visit us here at the museum.  Take a few moments and sit awhile in the rocking chairs out front.  Breathe it all in.  You are a part of history.  And if you see me walking around, don't be afraid to say howdy.
